Jeffrey Katz is CEO and principal owner of Sherwood Equities. Through Sherwood, Mr. Katz has invested in, owned, developed and managed over 5 million square feet of property, valued at over $5 billion, throughout the NY metropolitan area.  He has built a portfolio that has spanned nearly every asset class, from land, office, industrial, hotel and retail, to multifamily homes and luxury condominiums, in addition to outdoor advertising in Times Square. He has spearheaded Sherwood’s reputation within the real estate industry as a company with a strategic and meticulous approach, and an ability to act quickly without restraint. His work in the New York real estate market over the past several decades has actively reshaped Times Square, Hudson Yards and the Highline. In recent years, Mr. Katz has expanded Sherwood’s focus by adding opportunistic investing, through mezzanine lending, preferred equity and joint venture partnerships.  He has organized a group of dedicated and experienced professionals at Sherwood Equities who collaborate seamlessly together to create consistent success.

Jeffrey Katz received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts.

John Katz joined Sherwood in September of 2012. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and has spearheaded the firm’s investment platform of Brooklyn brownstones.

Beth Schlegel has worked as Sherwood’s General Counsel since 1999. She is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School and was previously an attorney for Willkie Farr and Gallagher, LLP and Kaye Scholer LLP.

Stuart Mann is a certified public accountant and joined Sherwood’s staff in 1986. He studied Economics at Rutgers University and was previously employed by Price Waterhouse & Co.

Jonathan Snider joined Sherwood Equities in 2016. He graduated from Vanderbilt University and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Jonny oversees Sherwood’s acquisitions, development, and lending, and was previously Vice President of Acquisitions at the Moinian Group.

Mitch Solomon is a graduate of the School of Architectural Engineering at Pennsylvania State University and has been working for Sherwood since 2004. He oversees all of Sherwood’s new construction and alteration projects. Prior to joining our company, Mitch spent 22 years with two esteemed construction management firms in New York City: HRH Construction and Sciame Construction.

Fred Rosenberg is a graduate of Princeton University and joined Sherwood Equities as Senior Vice President of Operations in 1995. He oversees the firm’s leasing and operations. He was previously the Director of Acquisitions and Management at AAG Management.

Steven Novick is a graduate of the University of Buffalo and joined Sherwood Equities in 1990. He oversees many of our new condominium ventures, including planning, sales, advertising, and marketing. He previously worked for Gilbert, Charles, Beylen as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for new condominiums.
